My Journey to Teaching French in Austin
I was born and raised in Pau, where French was more than just a language, it was the soundtrack of my life. After studying multimedia communication and working as a web developer for nearly a decade, I realized something was missing. I loved creating things, but I wanted to connect with people on a deeper level.
In 2017, I moved to Zürich, Switzerland, where I led a French-speaking customer service team for an online moving platform. That's where I discovered my knack for teaching, coaching my team, explaining complex ideas in simple terms, and watching people gain confidence. It felt more meaningful than any website I'd ever built.
Then came Austin. In 2022, I followed my American wife to Texas, and by 2023, I was teaching French full-time at École Jean-Jacques Rousseau. For two years, I worked with CE1-CE2 students (ages 7-9) in a full French immersion program. One of my proudest moments? Helping a student who spoke zero French at the start of the year become confident enough to participate in class discussions by the end. That's when I knew: this is what I'm meant to do.
Now, I'm offering personalized French tutoring for students of all ages and levels.
